Born and raised in the riding of Dorval—Lachine—LaSalle, I’ve always been very active in the community. From my early days as a caregiver to running my law practice, I have and will continue to commit myself to serve our community and those in need.
I hold an Honours Bachelor Degree in Political Science from Concordia University, a Bachelor of Law from Université de Montréal, a JurisDoctor (J.D.) and Master of Laws Degrees from Université de Sherbrooke. In October 2015, I was elected Member of Parliament for Dorval—Lachine—LaSalle and became Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Status of Women. I sat on the Status of Women Permanent Committee, HUMA, Scrutiny of Regulations Committee, and Heritage Committees.
My journey as a politician began at the age of 13 when I started volunteering for the Liberal Party of Canada. I sat on the Executive Council of the LaSalle-Emard Federal Liberal Electoral District Association in various positions such as Youth Vice-President, Vice-President Female, Secretary, and Policy Officer.
Since 2015, our Liberal Government has worked with Canadians to support local communities, develop our economy, protect the environment, invest in infrastructure and grow the middle-class. We are proud of our record: a million jobs created, unemployment rate near historic lows and 825,000 Canadians raised out of poverty, including 300,000 children. Nevertheless, there is still much more work for us to accomplish.
I look forward to getting back to work with our Liberal government and all Canadians to take on today’s challenges in the face of growing division and populism in the world. We must protect our environment, keep our cities safe, continue to invest in infrastructure, and build affordable housing for all. I believe that to achieve and improve the living conditions for all Canadians, we must stay united and work together as a country.
